Chiffon Maxi skirt tutorial

One of my goals this year is to learn to sew clothes.
Due to I can't take sewing lessons because they're a little too pricey, I'm teaching myself. Like my mother in-law always says, "to think is to create" & I'm creating, lets just hope it works...
I'm taking baby steps here and since patterns are too complicated for me I'm making easy things right now.

Here is how to make this skirt:
You need:
sewing machine
scissors
2 yards of chiffon
2 yards of lining fabric
elastic
pins
safety pin

1. measure the length you would like your skirt to be, add two inches & cut.
2. iron both fabrics
3. place chiffon on a flat surface & line up the lining fabric on top.

4. fold the fabrics in half with chiffon facing each other & pin

5.sew all along the edge

6. Leave 1 to 2 inches at the end without sewing. It depends how thick your elastic is.

7.Fold that and press.

8. Sew along the edge. where the red line is.

9. put the safety pin at the end of the elastic and insert it into the 1" or 2" pocket you just made

10. Once you have all the elastic, put on the skirt and tie it around your waist with a very very tight knot.

now all you need to do is make the seam at the bottom. If you're good with the sewing machine you can do it that way, I'm not very good, so I did it by hand.
Please comment below if you have any questions.
And there you have it! a nice chiffon maxi skirt!

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it
or something. I think that you can do with some pics to drive the message
home a little bit, but instead of that, this is
wonderful blog. A great read. I will definitely be back.
